Water, Water, Everywhere!

Anyone who knows me knows that I like to get things done...as soon as possible. Part of that is my impatient nature and the other part is that I'm a doer. So it will come as a surprise for many when I say that I am so happy that I had to go slowly with this project. I am connecting with and learning so much about the land with each month that passes. And as a result, I have planned, replanned, and planned again.

Today I wanted to plant some sustainably acquired wild ramps and check up on how the field is holding up to all of the rain we've had. I knew the soil had lots of clay and would drain slowly, but I wasn't expecting all of the pooling. This means that I have some more replanning to do. If I had started any kind of planting, or digging, or raised beds, it would not have been successful. So, all of the small setbacks that kept me from getting really moving in this garden area were blessings in disguise. I am grateful for the time I am taking to get to know this space, and to learn more and more and more about regenerative farming/gardening. I'll keep you posted as I continue...Growing With Food.
